Just before Christmas 2023, Doctor Eva Lilia invited my wife, Dr Tracy Moss, and

me, Rev Dan Fleischmann, to help her re-establish the medical and educational mission known to American and Canadian “winter texans” as Mabel’s Clinic in Nuevo Progreso.

We eagerly agreed to reopen Consultorios Medicos Gratuitos Mabel A.C.  ASAP!

On Monday,  January 9^th of 2024 we opened for service at 9am.  Our schedule has been  Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 to Noon-ish (we don’t leave until the last patients have been examined/treated).  We receive dental assistance from Dr Sam Barrios and a volunteer nurse, Tina Randall, RN, on Mondays.  Since I’m not a medical professional, I serve as the Coordinator of Volunteer Services, receptionist, counselor, plus Liaison with our American board of directors for both Mabel’s Free Clinic Association , and la Fundacion Mabel (the Mabels Foundation in Mexico)

In February, we were officially welcomed to the team at a fundraiser Spaghetti supper and Auction, at the Leisure World RV park!  Our board of directors, Ken and Dianne Conye, Oscar and Laurie Jones, Jerry and Sue Machetta, Dra Eva Lilia Garcia Cantu’, and Samuel Barrios, DDS; introduced Tracy and me to our faithful supporters at Leisure World, who raised a tremendous kick-off fund for our clinic!  They also gave us a brand new Microwave Oven for our staff, volunteers, and patients’ use in Nuevo Progreso.
